Beauty One: how to build a market leader from scratch.
18 years building Romania’s professional beauty distribution.
Every great business starts with a decision and a risk. In 2006, Beauty One started with €30,000 in borrowed capital and one conviction: the Romanian professional beauty market needed a serious partner for salons and clinics — not just a product seller, but a complete supplier, from cosmetics and equipment to consulting and training. Eighteen years later, that decision had become one of the industry’s benchmark networks.
The vision
From “product supplier” to “business partner”
What built Beauty One wasn’t the catalogue, but the model. Instead of selling only products, the company became a full provider for the beauty industry: distribution of professional cosmetics, dermato-aesthetic equipment, consumables and furniture — complemented by an education and business-consulting component for salon owners. The client wasn’t buying a product; they were building their business with a partner who understood how a salon works from the inside.
The build
The pillars that supported the growth
- A portfolio of international brands. Exclusive representation in Romania of established professional brands — the foundation of an offer hard for competitors to replicate.
- A medical division. From 2018, Beauty One Medical brought dermato-aesthetic equipment and anti-aging treatments into the portfolio, opening the clinic segment.
- Education as a differentiator. From 2010, the Beauty One school and the Beauty One Expert program trained hundreds of entrepreneurs and managers — turning clients into long-term partners.
- Two own centers. Running two beauty centers directly meant understanding the business not only as a supplier, but as an operator.
“I ran Beauty One not from a desk, but from inside my clients’ businesses. The same experience — how margin is built, how a team is managed, how a network grows — is what I now put at the service of entrepreneurs in the industry.”
What it proves
Why it matters to you
Beauty One isn’t a management theory read in a book. It’s a real business, built from the first loan to segment-leader status, run through every stage: launch, growth, diversification, team, brands, operations. This experience — accumulated over 18 years of real decisions, with real money and real stakes — is the foundation on which I now offer business consulting for salons, clinics and distributors in the beauty industry.
